As stated on DRRO'swebsite, founder Jim Poling says, "The Desert Rose Rock Orchestra (DRRO) exists for one purpose: to use their God-given abilities to glorify God and share the Bible's true message of hope and salvation through Jesus Christ. DRRO was formed as a band for concept musical works. Although the musical genre is rock, the required standard and level of musicianship is high. Woven in to the DNA of the Desert Rose Rock Orchestra is the aspiration to deliver a program of musical and theatrical excellence that would be worthy of our Savior. It was never an intent to just play a set list of songs, without any real purpose. The purpose of DRRO is to present a multi-media production, with narration, video and slide visuals, lights and effects and powerful musical arrangements that proclaim truth and the message of the Gospel of salvation in a way that captivates the viewer and listener."
DRRO each year presents a unique Christmas rock show inspired by the music of the Trans-Siberian Orchestra, but with a twist. Intertwined in the music the lyrics share the story and gospel of Christ through a unique music and multi-media presentation that's both captivating and spiritual.
