I think we can all relate to finding purpose in life. I know that I spent a few years searching for what I'm meant to do in life only to never find out what it was mainly because I was a lost soul. We constantly hear of people saying that they are venturing out into the world to find their purpose, but the truth is you'll never find it.
Trust me on this, I know you'll never find it. About four years ago I was a struggling man trying to find a place for his family to fit in. No matter what I did or where I led my family we continuously wound up in the same place. Not physically the same place, but mentally: empty and broken. I tell you this to give you hope and not hopelessness because I eventually found what I was looking for without even trying. How? "Everything? Really? Did you control your birth? Did your parents? Absolutely not. There was a divine intervention that created you and knows the very number of hairs on your head. He hand crafted you into exsistence and has allowed you the gift of choice."
You see, I never found my purpose and to this day I still haven't, but my purpose found me. When I surrendered my life to God He made it very clear who I am and what I am to be, thus purpose finding me. God led me to Graystone Church and has allowed my wife and I to plug in and have a meaningful ministry there. My kids love going to church and are learning things constantly from Ms. Katie Landress and the Children's ministry at Graystone. Through leadership and development I have become and better man, husband, friend, father and Christian because I quit trying to do things myself and let God have control.
