"Eastern Wolfers Wildlife Management Begins Coyote Hunting Operations"
Night time Predator Control

On or around November 13, 2015 we will begin Night time Coyote Control Operations on several large tracts of Rural property between Walnut Grove and Monroe, Ga. We are providing this information as a courtesy to the general public in case you allow your dogs to roam free at night. We do not want them responding to our calls and interfering with the control measures. We will be using calls and lures that are very attractive to all canines. Feral Hogs will also be removed if encountered. These night time operations will be performed several times per week on these properties in an attempt to reduce the coyote populations before we begin setting traps. The time frame is from the date indicated above until December 31, 2015. We will be setting traps, on one tract, the day after Thanksgiving. In addition, we will notify the Walton County Sheriff’s Office of our activities. If we catch a domestic dog in one of our traps with a collar, it will be turned over to Walton Animal Control. We are under no legal obligation to contact the owner and will not do so. Roaming dogs, Domestic or Feral interfere with the trapping cycle. We hope that most of the pet owners will take this advanced notification to heart.
Update: On November 13, 2015 I received a call from the Cattle Farm Landowner who told me a newborn calf had been attacked and killed by a Coyote. He had found the calf on his morning drive thru the pastures to check the herd. He asked if I could come over with the rifle and ”Kill the S.O.B” I eased into the property after dark with no lights on the truck. Stopped on top of the hill above where he said the calf was lying. Engaged the switch on the Thermal scope and scanned the pasture from left to right. There he sat facing me near a tree on the woodline. He was probably 75-80 yards away. There was no mistaking it was a coyote. Safety off, crosshairs on the center of the chest. Exhaled and squeezed the two stage trigger. I saw the coyote flip completely over in the scope and go out of sight. One calf killer down. I went back this past weekend and put out several traps across the farm. The Armasight performed flawlessly. We will be riding pastures and properties every night or so as weather allows searching for more targets.
