Local Football Players & Teams Receive High Rankings

Individual athletes nationally ranked along with Monroe Area and George Walton Academy.

The last 2012 MaxPrep Georgia High School Daily release dated Dec. 20 shows some local athletes among the ranks of those on the leaderboard in rushing.

  • Stanley Williams at George Walton Academy at #13 with 1,948 yards
  • Kwan Brooks, Monroe Area at #14 with 1,916 yards

Additionally, Monroe Area and George Walton Academy also finished in the top ten in the final state rankings as determined by Maxwell Ratings. Both team finished their 2012 season in the state semi-finals in their class.

  • Monroe Area ranked #9 in the Class AAAA
  • George Walton Academy ranked #6 in the Class A
