Sheriff's Calls: Child Cruelty Arrest, Tax Fraud, Chainsaw Thefts

CRIME AWARENESS/COMMUNITY INFORMATION ALERT

Activity date: April 27, 2015

Zone 1
Burglary – Two Stihl chainsaws were reportedly stolen from a garage of a residence on Lower Jersey Rd. around 10:30 a.m. on April 27, 2015. Suspect possibly driving a red, 1990s model Chevrolet truck with a regular cab. It has a black stripe on the tailgate and Chevrolet in gold/brown letters.

Zone 3
Extra Patrol – Extra patrol was requested in the area of Bethany Church Rd. due to mailboxes being damaged.

Extra Patrol – Extra patrol was requested in the area of Mt. Paron Church Rd. in reference to juveniles riding dirt bikes on the roadway without helmets and disturbing the peace.

Safety Check – Walton County deputies conducted a safety check on Bethany Church Rd. and Mt. Vernon Rd. Deputies checked for the required driving criteria: valid driver’s license, vehicle registration and insurance.

Theft Report – Firewood was reportedly stolen from a residence on Pannell Rd. Extra patrol requested in the area.

Fraud – Subject at a residence on St. Martin Way reportedly had his taxes filed by an unknown person.

Arrest – Mario Mejia and James Rose were arrested for an outstanding warrant at a residence on Bay Ridge Dr.

Zone 6
Identity Theft – Subjects at a residence on Cedar Lake Dr. reportedly had their identity used to file taxes.

Arrest - Rigoberto Ocampo was arrested at a residence on Caroline Ct. for Cruelty to Children 1st degree and Cruelty to Children 3rd degree.

Zone 7
Extra Patrol – Extra patrol was requested on H D Atha Rd. in reference to speeding vehicles.

Extra Patrol – Extra patrol requested on Meadowood Ct. in reference to damage being done to a freshly sodded yard.

Arrest – Dillon Kalemba was arrested for an outstanding warrant at a residence on Adams Way.

Arrest – Lamar Etheridge was arrested for Battery following an incident on Hillview Dr.
