What I'd Like to Ask a Rock Star

A couple of weeks ago I took my teenage daughter and her friend to see the Hunter Hayes concert at the Fox Theater.  I went to the show as their chauffeur, and left as a “Hayniac” (what his fans call themselves).

Yes, he’s that good.

So the next day I decided to look up Hunter Hayes on the internet.  I watched interview after interview, and they all asked the same questions.  Who was your inspiration growing up?  What inspires you to write your songs?  How many instruments can you play?

Blah blah blah.  I want to ask the real questions.

Where do you park your tour bus when you’re onstage?  Where do you take the tour bus to clean it out when it needs a dump station?  When does the bus driver sleep?  Who has the keys to the bus?

Life on the road must be tough for a rock star.  How do you do your own personal shopping?  If you get sick on the road, do you take the bus to CVS to get cold medicine?  How do you get it into the parking lot?  Who does your laundry?

The logistics of a record tour just dumbfound me.  Where do you park the tractor trailer with all your stage gear when it’s time to unload into the venue?  I can’t imagine parking a tractor trailer on Peachtree Street to unload into the Fox Theater.  What if the truck breaks down on the way, and you have no equipment for your show that night?

This all sounds like a very stressful job for somebody.  I’m glad we’re just roofers (www.bryantroofing.com) living in good ole’ Monroe Ga.  If our truck breaks down, we just go home and get the other one.
