PCOM South Georgia takes health education on the road with new MedROVer (valdostadailytimes.com) — PCOM South Georgia in Moultrie has launched the MedROVer, a 40-foot mobile clinic that will offer free health screenings and education right from the campus parking lot. Every Tuesday in September and October, residents can stop by from 4:30–6:30 p.m. for blood pressure checks, wellness information, and help connecting with local healthcare providers, while students gain hands-on experience serving rural communities.
   

2. Colquitt softball team aims to win series with Lowndes (moultrieobserver.com) — Colquitt County's Lady Packers will host Lowndes in a crucial Region 1-7A softball doubleheader Thursday at 4 p.m. at Packer Park in Moultrie, trying to rebound from an 8-0 loss Tuesday. The team, now 4-11 overall and 1-3 in region play, is looking to revive its season after a tough weekend tournament stretch.
   

3. 2026 AGC Georgia Skills Challenge Series returns to Rome in October (wrganews.com) — Moultrie will host the South and Southwest Georgia Skills Challenge on November 5, bringing high school construction students here to compete in trades like carpentry, electrical, masonry, and welding. The statewide series connects teens with industry professionals, showcases hands-on career paths, and can even help SkillsUSA students qualify for the 2027 state leadership and skills conference in Atlanta.
   

4. JEREMY KICHLER: Plan now for fall grazing in Colquitt County (moultrieobserver.com) — Colquitt County cattle producers are urged to start planning now for fall and winter grazing, with detailed guidance on seed choices, planting windows, seeding rates, and nitrogen applications suited to South Georgia conditions. Local Extension coordinator Jeremy Kichler, who also writes for Moultrie Scene Magazine, explains how careful timing and management can boost forage yields and protect young pastures.
