• Newnan man still missing after 2 months, family asks for help (fox5atlanta.com) — A 25-year-old Newnan man, Malik Polk, has been missing since May after walking into woods near Whitesburg and leaving his car running, and his family is pleading for help. Investigators from Carroll County and Coweta-connected relatives say extensive land, river, and digital searches have found nothing, and they’re urging anyone who sees him to immediately call law enforcement instead of approaching. 
• ‘Georgia's George Bailey' Faces 20 Years for Ponzi Scheme (ministrywatch.com) — A Georgia investment promoter has pleaded guilty to a large Ponzi-style fraud, and one of the victims was profiled by the Newnan Times-Herald after trusting the scheme’s Christian branding. Prosecutors say more than $140 million from hundreds of investors was misused, with sentencing set for August and restitution promised to victims, including smaller investors like the Newnan-connected businessman.
• Florida murder suspect with ties to Athens evades police (onlineathens.com) — Law enforcement in Florida says a murder suspect with Georgia connections has frequently visited Athens, Newnan, and several nearby counties, and is actively evading capture. Newnan-area residents should know she may have changed her hair, uses aliases, and is considered dangerous, with a reward offered for tips submitted through Crime Stoppers.
