• Georgia's historic drought officially comes to an end (wspa.com) — Peachtree City’s National Weather Service office has officially called an end to Georgia’s historic drought, issuing its final drought statement on August 6 after nearly 11 dry months. The report details how conditions peaked in April, when all of Georgia fell into severe drought or worse, and explains that while the drought is over, some areas remain only slowly recovering.
