Mercer University's Brown Art Gallery at the Monroe F. Swilley, Jr. Library presents We Dream in Color, an unabashed celebration of color by Jennifer Herrera and Keith Knapp. Sharing the gallery space, these two artist venture to dispatch, create, destroy and change, crossing and dissolving visual boundaries through the overflow of color and pattern. You will be delighted by both the depth and the playfulness of this exhibit.
The artists, Jennifer Herrera and Keith Knapp, have similar styles but their backgrounds are very different. Knapp, with no formal art training, developed his style from doodling while driving taxis. Herrera was influenced by the work of her father, artist Noyes Capeheart, her studies at North Carolina School of the Arts and Appalachian State University and the seven years she spent in the south of Mexico. Both artists have participated in various group shows and are currently painting in North Georgia.
The show runs through October 26th. The gallery is open Mon.-Thurs. 7:30am-10pm; Fri. 7:30am-8pm; Sat. 9am-6pm and Sun. 1pm-9pm.
