Cops: Bike-Riding Bank Robber Arrested
He allegedly robbed an Associated Credit Union branch on Jan. 5 near Peachtree Corners, then pedaled away on a red bicycle.
Gwinnett Police say an arrest has been made in the case of the bicycle-riding bank robber.
Shawn Kelley, 37, of Norcross, was arrested on Jan. 9 and charged with robbery by intimidation, police said in a news release.
The robbery occurred after 8 a.m. on Jan. 5 at the Associated Credit Union located at 4895 Peachtree Industrial Boulevard, just blocks away from the Peachtree Corners city limits. The suspect was captured on surveillance video riding a red bicycle away from the scene.

According to the Gwinnett Police incident report, the suspect walked up to the counter and told the teller to “Give me all the money in your drawer.”
He made off with $7,430, according to the incident report.

Gwinnett Police spokesperson Cpl. Michele Pihera said due to media coverage of the case, the lead detective was able to make the arrest after receiving tips.
A search warrant was served on Kelley’s residence, uncovering “numerous items of evidentiary value ... including a large sum of cash,” Pihera said in the news release.
