The Gwinnett County District Attorney’s Office said in a statement Tuesday that Cameron Hollins, 18, was found guilty of aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony in the Aug. 15, 2014 shooting death of Afolabi Odifa.
Hollins, who was 17 at the time of the shooting, was sentenced by Judge George F. Hutchinson, III, to 25 years in prison, the maximum allowable by law, the district attorney’s office said.

Hollins was initially charged with murder along with co-defendant Adam Matthew Pfeifer, 23, of Norcross. Pfeifer is still in the county jail on charges of murder, aggravated assault, armed robbery and other offenses, according to jail records.
According to the DA’s Office:
“Late in the evening of August 15, 2014, Odifa left his home in Norcross to pick up a fare at Sugarloaf Mills mall, leaving his new bride and infant son at home. Several hours later, his body was discovered in his taxi in an apartment complex in Norcross, the car in gear, his foot on the brake, and a gunshot wound to his head. Cameron Hollins, now 18, and a codefendant were subsequently arrested and charged with his murder.”
Hollins’ trial last six days and the jury needed more than two days of deliberation to reach a verdict.
Assistant District Attorney Courtney Spicer prosecuted the case.
