Man Pistol-Whipped, Robbed While Walking Home

Inside police reports: A closer look at incident reports in the Peachtree Corners area.

A Peachtree Corners man was pistol-whipped and robbed while he was walking to his apartment earlier this week, according to police.

The man told police he was walking home to the Mercer Place Apartments on Summit Point, when two males pulled up in a white van and attacked him just before 11 p.m. on Jan. 11. During the attack, the man was struck in the nose with a black handgun by one of the attackers, according to the Gwinnett Police incident report. The robbers stole a cell phone and $50.

“It appeared that his nose was broken from being pistol whipped,” the officer wrote in the incident report. The man was treated at the scene, but refused to be taken to the hospital.

The man said he was approaching the breezeway to his apartment building when the van pulled up and the males got out. He was knocked to the ground and the suspects began taking items out of his pockets, including his wallet and house keys, according to the incident report. The van returned and the males jumped in and they fled.

The suspects are described as black males, between 6 feet and 6 feet 2, with skinny builds. They were wearing all black. The victim, who cannot speak English very well, according to the report, had no other distinguishing characteristics of the attackers to share with police.
