Suspect In Beer-Snatching Armed Robbery Named
Gwinnett County Police say a Lawrenceville man was behind the robbery at a Texaco station in Peachtree Corners.
PEACHTREE CORNERS, GA — Police have named a suspect in the case of an armed robber who snagged a 12-pack of Bud Lite before robbing a Peachtree Corners gas station.
Police say Nicholas Shaw, 26, of Lawrenceville, was responsible for last Monday's robbery of the Texaco station at 3425 Medlock Bridge Rd.
Shaw currently is in custody in Oglethorpe County on separate charges. After surveillance images of the robbery were released last week, an officer with the Lilburn Police Department shared information with county police that led to him being named as a suspect.

Shaw has active warrants in Gwinnett County for armed robbery, robbery by intimidation, aggravated assault, illegal possession of a firearm and entering auto. He will be transferred to Gwinnett County Jail after he has served his time in Oglethorpe County.

In the Peachtree Corners robbery, a man walked into the Texaco at about 6:30 p.m., got the beer out of the cooler and walked up to the register, where he asked for cigarettes.
While a clerk was grabbing the cigarettes, the man pulled out a small pistol, telling the clerk to open the register and place it on the counter.
The clerk complied and the robber took the money, the beer and the cigarettes, police said. He then walked out of the store and got into an older model, tan-colored Toyota 4Runner.
