19 Georgia Hospitals Honored For Patient Safety, Experience
Healthgrades has released a list of hospitals — including 19 in Georgia — that were honored for patient safety and patient experience.
ATLANTA, GA — A total of 19 Georgia hospitals were recognized by Healthgrades as excelling in at least one of two award categories. The 2019 awards recognized hospitals for patient safety and patient experience.
In a press release, Healthgrades said the awards "recognize the hospitals around the country that make patient safety a top priority and provide an outstanding patient experience." Overall, 460 hospitals in the United States achieved the Healthgrades "Patient Safety Excellence Award" and 434 hospitals achieved the "Outstanding Patient Experience Award."
In Georgia, 12 hospitals achieved the patient safety award and seven hospitals achieved the patient experience award.

- Cartersville Medical Center, Cartersville
- Coliseum Medical Centers, Macon
- Coliseum Northside Hospital, Macon
- Fairview Park Hospital, Dublin
- Houston Medical Center, Warner Robins
- Optim Medical Center -Tattnall, Reidsville
- Piedmont Newnan Hospital, Newnan
- Redmond Regional Medical Center, Rome
- Tift Regional Medical Center, Tifton
- Wellstar Spalding Regional Hospital, Griffin
- Wellstar West Georgia Medical Center, Lagrange
And these Georgia hospitals achieved the "Outstanding Patient Experience Award":

Healthgrades says the hospitals that achieved the patient safety award are among the top 10 percent of all short-term acute hospitals that report patient safety data. By Healthgrades' estimate, nearly 128,000 patient safety incidents could have been avoided if all hospitals performed similarly to the ones recognized for safety.
