2 Dead After Motorcycle Crashes Into 18-Wheeler: Police

A Roswell man and a Sandy Springs woman are dead after the motorcycle they were riding crashed into an 18-wheeler truck.

SANDY SPRINGS, GA — A man and a woman are dead after the motorcycle they were riding on Interstate 285 at Peachtree Dunwoody Road in Sandy Springs crashed into an 18-wheeler truck.

Marvin Roberson, 33, of Roswell, was pronounced dead at the scene and Natalie Strauss, 26, of Sandy Springs, was thrown from the bike during the crash. She was taken to a hospital where she later died.

Sandy Springs Police said the couple were riding a 2007 Kawasaki motorcycle at 10 p.m. on Tuesday, April 23 when it caught fire after speeding onto the interstate from Ashford Dunwoody Road. The motorcycle crashed into the back of a Freightliner 18-wheeler truck.

Police have said they believe speed was a factor in the crash.

The truck driver stayed on the scene and isn't facing any charges. The crash is still under investigation.
