The association has donated more than $1 million for those recreational needs, including park land purchase, playground equipment, spraygrounds, meditative gardens and many other projects impacting residents of all ages.
Among its early projects, the association built Roswell’s first tennis courts, a little league field and paid part of the salary for Roswell’s first Recreation & Parks director.
The Roswell Arts Festival began in 1966, the first of its kind north of the Chattahoochee River. It eventually became so successful that it's the only fundraising initiative held each year by the organization.
Admission is free to the festival, whose hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 17 and Sunday, Sept. 18.
