Two of them are children’s books and the third highlights a very famous claim-to-fame for the city of Roswell: the courtship of Mittie Bulloch to Theodore Roosevelt, Sr.

She will appear next month for a special signing of all three of her books at the Roswell Visitors Center.

The event will be held from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 17. The Visitor’s Center is located at 617 Atlanta Street; refreshments will be served.

During her time in Georgia, Huddleston was very active in the Roswell Historical Society, the now defunct Bulloch Hall Archaeological Society and at Bulloch Hall for almost 25 years. It was her work at a Cresaptown, Maryland archaeological site that inspired her children’s book entitled Greg’s First Adventure in Time about a 12-year-old boy who through time travel explores a world that existed more than 3,000 years ago with his new Native American friend Hopelf.

Her extensive work at Bulloch Hall prompted her to co-author a historical book with Gwendolyn Koehler, Education Director at Bulloch Hall, entitled Mittie & Thee: An 1853 Roosevelt Romance. It’s a documentation of a time when North met South — and an enduring love affair began. This 1853 story, told through one year of courtship, is a compilation of letters between New York City’s Theodore Roosevelt, Sr. and Miss Mittie Bulloch of Georgia.

Huddleston is also an historic preservation consultant and interpretive specialist who currently lives in rural Kentucky in a log cabin with her husband and puppy.

She has one daughter, Amy Cassandra Davis, who is also an author, and has two grandsons. For more information, contact 770-640-3253 or visit www.cmhuddleston.com.
