Authors To Sign Copies of Book Documenting Roosevelt-Bulloch Courtship

The Roswell Visitors Center will host two authors who’ve penned a book chronicling the ties of one of the city’s most famous residents to a political dynasty.

Connie Huddleston and Gwen Koehler will be signing copies of their new book, Mittie and Thee: An 1853 Roosevelt Romance, at an event scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17.
Transcribed and presented just as written, these love letters tell the story not only of two young lovers, but of the social mores of 1853. Mittie Bulloch, the second daughter of James and Martha Bulloch, married Theodore Roosevelt in December 1853. The two would have a son who’d go on to become the 26th president of the United States.

Huddleston will also be signing her children’s books Greg’s First Adventure in Time and Greg’s Second Adventure in Time.
Residents are asked to RSVP to 770-640-3253 to confirm their attendance. Refreshments will be served, and door prizes will be awarded. The Visitors Center is located at 617 Atlanta Street.
