ROSWELL, GA -- The Roswell Visitors Center will host a book signing for local author Megan Wargula featuring her new release Riley Carson And The Cherokee Caves.

The event will be held from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 30.

The book is geared for middle grade readers and older, and aims to educate young people about responsible pet ownership and animal welfare issues.

Set in the charming town of Roswell, the story weaves through an important message with adventure, history and a little paranormal activity.

Riley Carson is just an average kid -- or so she thinks. Days before starting middle school, Riley’s beloved dog dies in her arms and this tragedy impacts her more than she can imagine. As Riley and her friends, Finn Murphy and Eve Rycroft, navigate the world of middle school, they stumble across something more daunting...dogs in their town are being mistreated.

The friends must find out what is happening before another dog is hurt. From paranormal activity to legends of Cherokee gold, Riley, Finn and Eve are about to begin the adventure of a lifetime.

Megan Wargula is a self-proclaimed “dog nerd” – the kind of person who knows the dogs in her neighborhood better than their humans. A native of Atlanta, Wargula has always loved animals and has made it her mission to make the world a better place for pets through her writing.

When not at her day job as a graphic designer, Wargula spends the rest of her time writing and enjoying life with her husband and dogs.
