A portion of Holcomb Bridge Road (State Route 140) will be closed on Sunday, Oct. 10, from approximately 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Georgia Power will close all westbound lanes on Holcomb Bridge at Warsaw Road to upgrade and install utility equipment necessary for the City of Roswell’s Holcomb Bridge Road/Warsaw Road Intersection Improvement project. The eastbound lanes of Holcomb Bridge Road will remain open.

Variable message boards have been placed in the area to alert commuters of the closure. In addition, a traffic controller and Roswell Police Department traffic enforcement officers will be onsite to aid in traffic control.

Detours
Traffic moving westbound on Holcomb Bridge Road (SR 140) on Sunday will be split into two lanes, as motorists approach the Warsaw Road intersection:

  • Those in the right lane will be diverted around the closure by making a right onto Warsaw Road northbound and then a left onto Old Roswell Road, which will bring them back to Holcomb Bridge Road just west of the closed lanes.
  • Motorists in the left lane will make a left onto southbound Warsaw Road, and then a right at the roundabout onto Grimes Bridge Road, which will also bring them back to Holcomb Bridge Road just west of the closure.

About the Project
The Holcomb Bridge Road/Warsaw Road Intersection Improvement project is part of the City of Roswell's Big Creek Parkway project, which will eventually provide an alternative to the Holcomb Bridge Road interchange for motorists traveling between east and west Roswell. Big Creek Parkway is a TSPLOST project that voters approved in November 2016 referendum.
