Company To Donate K-9 Cooling Vests, Temperature Gauges To Officers

Atlanta Home Theater on Friday will be present the Roswell Police Department with temperature gauges and K-9 cooling vests on Friday.

The presentation will take place at 9 a.m. July 31 at the Roswell Police Department, located at 39 Hill Street.

Roswell-based Atlanta Home Theater owners, Scott and Jennifer Ross, and their operations team, will present Chief Rusty Grant, Deputy Chief Craig Easterwood, K-9 officers and other members of the police department with their donation.

Atlanta Home Theater felt compelled to make a difference in the community when one of their team members witnessed Roswell officers rescue a dog that was trapped inside of a hot car.

The team member also witnessed the officer purchasing a temperature gauge with his own money.

Urged by the media, he shared this incident with the Atlanta Home Theater crew. After a team brainstorming session, the decision was made to donate brand new temperature gauges officers can use to determine the internal temperature of vehicles where dogs are trapped.

In addition, the company chose to provide cooling vests, which will be used to soothe working K-9 dogs, and can be dispatched for cooling overheated dogs rescued from hot cars. The cooling vests are made to hold water, which can be filled on site.

The team also decided to purchase YETI coolers for those K-9 units to keep the vests cool all the times. These vests can also be used for overheated cats and even children, if needed.

“It is a well-invested $2,000 for a police force we observe everyday doing the city’s good work, many with whom we are friends and all of whom risk themselves everyday to make our city better,” the group said. “Atlanta Home Theater is more than happy to help bring cool solutions to this heated issue.”
