ROSWELL, GA -- From HTML to JavaScript, coding can sometimes feel like another language to those who are not familiar with the practice.
However, at Fulton Academy of Science & Technology in Roswell, students will soon get a head start on the subject, thanks to a donation from a metro Atlanta company.
Emerson, a global leader in technology and engineering, donated $20,000 to fund equipment for a new program at the school.

The course will teach the foundation and fundamentals of computer and web programming students at the kindergarten through eighth-grade charter school.
“STEM education is shaping the next generation of engineers, innovators and all of our students who are coming of age in an increasingly technical and software driven world,” said Mark Dunson, group vice president of Emerson’s Electronics & Solutions business, which is located in Kennesaw. “We see this dynamic not only in our business and across the industries we serve, but also in our everyday lives. We’re thrilled to play a part in helping students build these critical skills at a young age.”
