Cop Charged With Trying To Meet Child For Sex In Roswell
Roswell police on Thursday arrested a part-time officer with a northwest Georgia city at a shopping center on Woodstock Road.

ROSWELL GA -- The Roswell Police Department has arrested a part-time officer from North Georgia who allegedly arranged to meet up with a child for sexual purposes. The agency has charged Abraham Flores Galvan with one count each of obscene internet contact with a child and enticing a child to commit an illegal act, police spokesperson Lisa Holland said Friday.
Galvan is a part-time officer serving the city of Tunnel Hill, a northwest Georgia town situated long Interstate 75 between Dalton and Ringgold.
Roswell investigators contend Galvan traveled to a shopping center on Woodstock Road "with the intent to engage in sexual acts with a child under the age of consent," police spokesperson Lisa Holland told Patch.

Holland said the Roswell Police Department has been involved in a multi-agency undercover operation that targets online sexual predators. The goal of this operation, she notes, is to apprehend individuals who use the internet to "entice children for indecent purposes." Throughout the operation, Holland notes Galvan initiated contact with a person who identified as being a child under the age of consent.
