Creative Writing Summer Camp For Kids Comes to Barrington Hall

Kids Can Write will be led by award winning children's book author and writing instructor Mary Ann Rodman.

Roswell’s historic Barrington Hall will once again host its popular creating writing summer camp series for children.

Kids Can Write, which teaches kids how to write creatively and view writing as fun and enjoyable, will return for its fourth year.

There will be four separate, week-long creative writing camps. Each will be held 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.

  • June 22 through June 26 (basic)
  • July 6 through July 10 (basic)
  • July 13 through July 17 (advanced)
  • July 20 through July 24 (advanced)

Children will learn to tell their stories clearly while engaging their audience through the use of guided exercises, individual and group instruction.

The camps will again by led by award-winning children’s book author and writing instructor Mary Ann Rodman. Her recent novel, Yankee Girl, was chosen for inclusion on Georgia Center for the Book’s inaugural list of “25 Books All Young Georgians Should Read.”

Her first book, My Best Friend, won the prestigious Charlotte Zolotow Award given to the author of the best picture book text.

The age range for participants is 10 to 14 years old. The cost per child is $250 per camp and includes all materials.
