Deadline Extended, Spots Available For Roswell Candidate Training
Due to overwhelming response and interest in the free candidate workshop, the City of Roswell has moved it to include more participants.
ROSWELL, GA — Due to overwhelming response and interest in the free candidate workshop, the City of Roswell has moved it from Room 220 into the Council Chambers to accommodate more participants.
Members of the community interested in running for public office are invited to attend a workshop for candidate training at Roswell City Hall from 1o a.m. to noon on Tuesday, Aug. 3. This free workshop will be presented by the Georgia Government Transparency and Campaign Finance Commission, formerly known as the State Ethics Commission.
The workshop introduces current public officials, candidates and other interested members of the public to the Campaign Finance Act and how it applies to candidates and public officials. Topics may include preliminary matters, definitions, forms, reports, late filing fees, contribution limits and campaign records. Training staff from the Georgia Government Transparency and Campaign Finance Commission will be conducting the workshop and will be available to answer questions.

Roswell City Hall is located at 38 Hill St. The workshop will be held in Council Chambers.

Qualifying week for those interested in running for municipal office in the Nov. 2 City of Roswell General Municipal Election will be:
- Aug. 16-20
- 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- Roswell City Hall, 38 Hill St., Roswell, GA 30075
- The next Roswell General Municipal Election, on Nov. 2, is for the mayor and council posts 4, 5 and 6.
