Deep Roots will feature wines exclusively from California, including hard-to-find gems perfect for adding to your collection.
ROSWELL, GA — Just in time for summer sipping, Deep Roots Wine Market & Tasting Room will open its doors at 1055 Canton Street on Saturday, June 23 in Roswell. Deep Roots exclusively features wines from California with a wide range of price points, including hard-to-find boutique wines that are perfect for adding to cellar collections. The shop is owner DanaGurela’s way of bringing her beloved Napa Valley home.
“It’s taken a little time and planning, but my dream business in Historic Roswell is finally becoming a reality,” Gurela said. “I can’t wait to begin the first of many wine conversations with our guests.”
As a certified California Wine Appellation Specialist via the San Francisco Wine School with a Wine and Spirits Education Trust Level 2 certification from the Napa Valley Wine Academy, Gurela looks forward to recommending vintages and varieties.

Deep Roots offers pre-packaged bites for pairing including cured meats from The Spotted Trotter along with chicken salad, pimento cheese and baked goodies from Roswell’s popular Gluten Free Cutie. Assorted cheeses, crackers, jams, salads, hummus and baba ghanoush are also available in the shop’s retail cooler.
Featuring a clean, relaxed and warm California coastal design by California interior designer Tara Fust, Deep Roots is a casual, relaxing space for meeting up with friends or dashing in to grab a bottle of wine for dinner.
“We want to take the stuffiness and pretense out of the wine sampling and purchasing process,” Gurela added. “Everyone will feel at home at Deep Roots, whether you’re still learning about wine or eager to add bottles to your home collection.”
The name originated from two sources. Throughout her Napa Valley wine education, Gurela learned the best wines are made from “distressed” vines that burrow deep into the earth for water and nutrients. Deep Roots also references a return to Georgia to be near cherished family members.
