Democrat Announces Run For Senate District 56 Seat
Patrick Thompson is seeking the seat held by incumbent Republican John Albers.

ROSWELL, GA -- A local entrepreneur has announced his candidacy to run for the Georgia Senate District 56 seat held by incumbent Republican John Albers. In his notice, Patrick Thompson said the state deserves public servants who will "implement solutions, not just talk."
“I will work with the General Assembly to create a plan that supports our community, manages our growth and protects the foundations of our quality of life," he said. "My top priorities reflect what constituents ask for - affordable healthcare, support for our public schools, sustainable jobs and smart growth that includes integrated transit and expanded train service."
Thompson is a Democrat who has challenged Albers for the State Senate seat before; he launched a bid against the incumbent Republican in 2016.

The candidate added he believes politicians should serve their communities -- not corporate or industry groups. This is why his campaign will not accept funds from corporate lobbyists, Thomspon stated.
“As a State Senator, I will be beholden only to the people of District 56, not lobby money,” he said.
