Driver Cited In Crash Involving Roswell School Bus

ROSWELL, GA -- The driver of an SUV and four students were injured Friday morning in a two-vehicle accident involving a school bus in Roswell.

The bus was traveling westbound on Ga. 92 while the SUV, which was traveling eastbound, was trying to turn left on to Hardscrabble Road when it pulled out in front of the bus, said Roswell police spokesperson Lisa Holland.

The driver of the SUV was transported to an area hospital with minor injuries. Police also cited that driver for charges related to the collision.

Holland said there were children on the bus at the time of the collision. Fulton County Schools spokesperson Susan Hale said that bus was transporting students to Mountain Park Elementary School when the collision occurred. The bus sustained minor damage, but "was able to continue its delivery of students to the school," she added.

"Initially, there were no reports of injuries, but after the bus arrived at the school, four children complained of minor injuries, the most serious being a cut lip," she added.

The injured students are being picked up by parents, and the remaining students on the bus reported to class, Hale told Patch.
