Early Voting Underway For Roswell Special Election

The election to fill the vacant Roswell City Council Post 4 seat will be held March 21.

ROSWELL, GA -- Roswell voters can now cast their ballots early in the race to fill the vacant City Council Post 4 seat.

Early voting kicked off Monday, Feb. 27 for the March 21 special election, which is needed due to Kent Igleheart's resignation following his arrested on child sex charges.

The four candidates in Roswell who've qualified to run in the election are Lori Henry, Shelley Sears, Marie Willsey and Shawn Wright.

Early voting runs from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Feb. 27 through Friday, March 17. Saturday voting will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. March 11 at the South Fulton Service Center.

“To avoid stress, I strongly recommend residents to vote early,” said Elections Director Richard Barron.

One advantage of early voting: citizens can cast ballots any of the designated locations during this period. However, on Election Day, they have to vote at their assigned polling precincts.

The Fulton County Department of Registration and Elections have opened four early voting locations for Roswell's race as well as the City of South Fulton elections.

The four early voting locations are:

  • East Roswell Branch Library, 2301 Holcomb Bridge Road, Roswell, GA 30076
  • Roswell Branch Library, 115 Norcross Street, Roswell, GA 30075
  • South Fulton Service Center, 5600 Stonewall Tell Rd., Room 108, College Park, GA 30349
  • Wolf Creek Library, 3100 Enon Road, Atlanta, GA 30331
