Fulton Transit Input Meetings Start Jan 10 In Roswell
Four public input meetings will be held this month to allow you to weigh in on plans under consideration by mayors and county commissioners.

ROSWELL, GA — Fulton County commissioners and mayors are considering four scenarios that would expand mass transit options around the county, and these elected officials are seeking public input before moving forward in addressing the needs of its citizens.
The scenarios being considered range from increasing the presence of vehicles such as buses and vans to the expansion of heavy rail. Four public open houses are scheduled throughout January to present the scenarios and collect feedback:

Following the 2016 passing of the 3/4-cent Transportation Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax referendum in Fulton County, the mayors of the 14 cities outside of Atlanta and the county commission affirmed that a plan was needed to determine potential expansion of transit services in Fulton County. The mayors and county approached the Atlanta Regional Commission to help fund and manage the study in collaboration with MARTA, Fulton County, and the 14 participating cities.
The Fulton County Transit Master Plan included a review of each city’s community and economic development strategies, an analysis of existing transit services and needs, and the development of a financial model to determine the potential for expanded transit services within Fulton County.
