The Fellowship Christian School girls’ varsity soccer team extended its unbeaten streak to 17 games and will return to the Final Four of the GHSA Class A Girls State Soccer Tournament for the sixth time in school history with a 4-1 victory over The Paideia School at Bob Lord Field.
The Lady Paladins (15-0-2 overall) are now 2-0 in the state tournament. FCS, which had a first-round bye, beat Paideia last spring in the quarterfinals, 4-3 in overtime. That avenged a loss in the 2013 state title game.

This is Fellowship fifth consecutive Final Four appearance. The school advanced to the State Final Four for the first time in 2005, and has gone every year since 2011.
The Lady Paladins will play First Presbyterian Day School of Macon in the semifinals on the road on Tuesday, May 12. First Presbyterian is the top-ranked team among Single A Schools. The Lady Paladins have lost three times in the Final Four to FPD, twice in the semifinals and once in the championship game.
The Fellowship seniors are trying to reach their third straight championship game.
FCS has outscored its opponents 12-1 in the state playoffs, and narrowly missed its ninth shutout of the season. The team’s goals were scored by junior Megan Hudgens and sophomore Rachel Haigwood. Sophomore Stephanie Haigwood assisted her sister’s tally.
“It was another great win for our team,” head coach Tim Rice said. “It was a big deal for us to reach the Final Four again. I am honored to be a part of this program that coach [Trip] Hughes did such a good job building.”
On Friday night, the Lady Paladins led 1-0 at halftime and scored three times on the second half.
FCS is ranked second among Single A schools in the latest eurosportscoreboard rankings released on April 26. For the complete eurosportscoreboard rankings, please go here .
