The screening, which is free and open to the public, will be held at 6 p.m. Feb. 28 at Paladin Gym.

Burgess will address the group attending the movie. The film was released on Oct. 16 and has been seen by millions.

A 2013 graduate of Auburn University with a bachelor’s degree in theatre, Burgess joined the Tigers as a walk on football player in 2009 following a career at Vestavia Hills High School near his hometown of Birmingham.

He played fullback, tight end and offensive line during his three-year career at Auburn, where he earned a scholarship in 2011.

Burgess played in every Tiger game, mostly on special teams, during his final three seasons at Auburn (2010-12). The 6’3’’, 250-pound versatile performer helped Auburn capture the national championship in 2010, and was also named to the 2010 SEC Academic Honor Roll.

The budding actor is the grandson of Bill Burgess, a fullback at Auburn in 1960, and is the son of Rick Burgess, co-host of the popular syndicated morning radio show, “Rick & Bubba.”
