Food Trucks bring new life to Don White Park

Saturday's launch of Roswell River Food Truck Weekends brought new life to Don White park and by new life I mean my family and me.  None of us knew a thing about Don White park even though we've passed it many times, I never noticed the small sign denoting it's entrance.

I first heard the about the park in the announcement of the food truck park that began there Saturday.  There were three trucks in the lineup when we were there on Saturday afternoon; Pressed for Time, Masala Fresh and Hail Caesar (check my blog Sweet Savant for the review) .  I saw from the RRFT Weekend's Facebook page that there was a different line up of trucks on Sunday.  Variety is the spice of life and the rotating lineup of food vendors will keep the experience fresh.  Although we went down to the park for lunch we were pleasantly surprised by all the park had to offer.

Both sand volleyball courts in the park had games going on the entire time we were there.  The players were really working up a sweat and having a ball (pun definitely intended).  There is also public fitness equipment available, that came in handy to help burn off all the calories in the chorizo panini I ate.  Many of the machines use your own body weight to work your upper body but there is also an elliptical machine for cardio workouts.

Tubes and other river gear were available for rent but many people brought their own equipment.  My Family wants to go back next weekend for tubing...we'll see.
