Miss Mittie Bulloch grew up at Bulloch Hall and was a young lady who loved fun, adventure, games, being outdoors and exploring. As a young lady of the mid-nineteenth century she also learned social graces. Miss Mittie grew up and married Theodore Roosevelt Sr. and then became the mother of President Teddy Roosevelt.

At Miss Mittie's Academy young ladies experience the history of entertaining and daily life from the 1800s until today. Bulloch Hall offers the opportunity for girls to explore a historic site, participate in special crafts, and learn social graces, including manners, etiquette, fashion and refinement. Other activities at the camp may include basic stitching, setting a table, conversation, cooking, games, etc. This year Debbie Cwalina,
Co-Founder ofBe the Voice, will share how your child can be the voice that stops bullying. Children will enjoy the heritage passed on from one of Roswell’s founding families by hosting a tea for their own families at the end of the week.

Camp Rough Riders was started 26 years ago with the intent of making history fun while children learn about Roswell history and life during the 1800s. Camp introduces children to cooking over an open hearth, blacksmithing, candle dipping, gardening, beekeeping, ice cream making, woodworking and more. Special guests include a Civil War Soldier, the Quilt and Sampler Guild, Archaeologist and North Fulton Master
Gardeners. The parents join their children on the last day for a cookout and ice cream social and a tour of Bulloch Hall given by the campers.
