Friends of Mimosa Hall & Gardens Receive $5,000 Donation

Board of Trade, a high-end consignment store in Roswell, made the donation to the nonprofit organization.

ROSWELL, GA -- Board of Trade, a high-end consignment store in Roswell, has donated $5,000 to Friends of Mimosa Hall & Gardens.

Beth Richardson, the owner of Board of Trade, visited Mimosa Hall this summer to see the furniture that former owner of Mimosa Hall, Sally Hansell, had available, and she was so astounded by the beauty of the house and by the dedication of the Friends group that she decided to donate all profits from Sally’s consignments to Friends of Mimosa Hall & Gardens.

This $5,000 is the first donation that the Friends group has received. Friends of Mimosa Hall & Gardens has been working with the City of Roswell to preserve Mimosa Hall, an 1842 Greek Revival mansion with 5 acres of gardens designed by Neel Reid.

The city of Roswell purchased Mimosa Hall and its 9-acre property in late August. Donations to Friends of Mimosa Hall & Gardens will be used to help the City with the cost of renovations. In addition to maintaining the historical integrity of the house and grounds, the Friends group hopes to utilize alternative energy to make the property environmentally friendly and financially self-sustaining.

The Friends group will be holding its first fundraiser, photos with Santa, on November 4th. More information about the Friends group can be found at www.friendsofmimosa.org.
