Fulton County Schools Calendar 2017-18

Summer flies by quickly, and back-to-school is right around the corner. Here’s the 2017-18 school calendar for the Fulton County School System.

The first day of school is Monday, Aug. 7. Pre-planning for teachers will be held Aug 1-4. The first semester will end Dec. 21 for students, followed by a two-week winter break.

First Semester

• Aug. 1-4: Pre-planning for teachers
• Aug. 7: First day of school
• Sept 4. Labor Day (schools closed)
• Oct. 6: Teacher workday (students off)
• Oct. 9: Columbus Day (schools closed)
• Nov. 20-24: Thanksgiving break (schools closed)
• Dec. 21: Last day of the first semester
• Dec. 22-29, Jan. 1-3: winter break (schools closed)

Second Semester

• Jan. 4: Teacher workday (students off)
• Jan. 5: Professional development day (students off)
• Jan. 8: First day of second semester.
• Jan. 15: Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday (schools closed)
• Feb. 16: Student/teacher holiday (schools closed; designated as inclement weather makeup day, if needed)
• Feb. 19: President’s Day holiday (schools closed)
• March 9: Teacher workday (students off; designated as inclement weather makeup day, if needed)
• March 12: Professional development day (students off)
• April 2-6: Spring break (schools closed)
• May 24: Last day of school
• May 25: Post-planning
• May 28: Memorial Day holiday (schools closed)
