Created in 1989, the Fulton County Schools Police Department provides safety support and response to schools and central office buildings. Depending on school size or population, Fulton middle and high schools have between 1-2 school-based officers who are in place and ready to respond to any potential safety situation. Officers also are on hand to respond to elementary schools in their area.

In addition to meeting the certification standards of the Georgia Peace Officer Standards and Training Council (P.O.S.T.), which is required of all Georgia law enforcement, school police officers have specialized training that helps them build relationships with students, staff and the school community.

Chief Sulborski’s vision for the Fulton County Schools Police Department is to contribute to the educational outcomes of students by establishing and sustaining ongoing positive relationships. He believes this can be done by meeting the law enforcement needs of students and staff, while simultaneously serving as unofficial counselors and mentors for students.

During his time outside of work, Chief Sulborski enjoys spending time with his family, especially his 8-year-old daughter, doing anything outdoors, and restoring his nearly 100-year-old farm home in Cherokee County. He is an active member of North Point Ministries at its Alpharetta campus in their Youth Ministry Programs.
