UPDATE: Haynes Bridge Road Reopens Following Gas Leak

The city of Alpharetta advises traffic will remain heavy through the evening commuting period, as crews continue to repair the gas line.

Alpharetta, GA -- Haynes Bridge Road at Mansell Road is now open following a natural gas leak that began late Thursday morning.

While crews have reopened the intersection, the city of Alpharetta advises motorists to avoid the area through the evening commute tonight.

Natural gas crews and emergency personnel will remain scene while repairs are being made to a gas line that began leaking.

Lane closures are in place at some locations south of the intersection with Mansell Road as work on the line continues. As a result of the lane closures and ongoing repairs, heavy traffic delays are expected on Haynes Bridge Road, especially for southbound commuters.

Motorists are strongly urged to avoid the area if possible, and use alternative routes such as Old Alabama Connector and GA-400.
