Great Duck Race Set For Oct. 20 In Roswell

The ducks are part of Keep Roswell Beautiful's annual fundraising event, the Great Duck Race!

From The City of Roswell: Anyone walking along Big Creek on Oxbo Road on Saturday, October 20, might be surprised to see a large flock of pink, yellow, and blue ducks racing along the water. The ducks are part of Keep Roswell Beautiful’s annual fundraising event, the Great Duck Race!

The ducks will “paddle” frantically down a short stretch of the creek, and the first to cross the finish line will earn its sponsor $100. Second place earns $50. Ducks can be rented online at www.picatic.com/duckrace102018. Sponsorship prices are $6 for one duck, $12 for three ducks, and $38 for ten ducks. Sponsors do not have to be present to win; however, winners will have only 48 hours to claim their prize after notification. On the day of the race, spectators will be invited to join Keep Roswell Beautiful Board members for food and festivities starting at noon. The race will begin at 1 p.m.

Big Creek is Roswell’s drinking water source and feeds into the Chattahoochee River, an ecologically valuable waterway that is the heart of the city. Keep Roswell Beautiful is proud to work toward keeping Roswell’s waterways safe, healthy, and vibrant.
