Habitat North Central Georgia Hosts Homeowner Christmas Party
Habitat Homeowner Christmas Party
Habitat homeowners of North Central Georgia celebrated a fun-filled, joyous Christmas holiday, when they attended the Habitat North Central Georgia annual Christmas party held recently at the Roswell Presbyterian Church. Santa arrived early, with toys for children of more than 50 families. Some of the toys were provided by the Rotary Club of Johns Creek-North Fulton.
Mouthwatering chicken salad and deli sandwiches, pasta, and fruit salads were catered by Chicken Salad Chick of Alpharetta. Desserts (donated by the Presbyterian Women), along with pizza, and chips were plentiful for the more than 200 family members in attendance. Bill and Kay Phinney of Roswell Presbyterian Church lead the families in the singing of the classic Christmas songs, Jingle Bells, We Wish You a Merry Christmas, and Silent Night; and everyone was captivated by homeowner Dave Joseph, who sang his favorite Christmas song, a capella!
Habitat North Central Georgia would like to extend a special thank you to Teresa Mann, for providing the decorations, crafts and family gifts for over seven years and to Linda Graham for coordinating the use of the church, desserts and so much more. The event was joyful and festive and everyone in attendance had a wonderful time.

Habitat for Humanity – North Central Georgia is a non-profit, Christian housing ministry that builds simple, decent homes for purchase by low income families who demonstrate a capacity for responsible homeownership. Since its inception in 1995, 261 homes have been completed and over 1000 family members have been served in North Fulton, Cherokee and Forsyth/Dawson counties. Each family is required to attend 6 educational classes and perform 200-300 sweat equity hours. Families earn between 30% and 60% of the Atlanta area median income and purchase their homes from Habitat which provides them with a 30-year, no-interest loan. Family members work side by side with the volunteers, sponsors, and Habitat staff to build their homes. These families not only get to experience the pride of homeownership but they also know that their lives will be changed forever.
