'Heroes and Helpers' Provides a Merry Christmas To Roswell Children

The Roswell Police Department will partner with Target for its initiative to allow underprivileged children to purchase Christmas gifts.

The Roswell Police Department once again will partner with Target to allow less fortunate children have a merry Christmas.

The agency will hold its Heroes and Helpers Day at 8 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 6 at Target, located at 1135 Woodstock Road, Roswell police said in a press release.

A grant from Target will allow the agency to help 29 underprivileged Roswell elementary school children purchase Christmas gifts. Roswell officers will accompany the children throughout the store to help them shop for presents.

The children were selected through HomeStretch and from Roswell elementary schools with the assistance of Fulton County social workers.

Along with the shopping, the event will include a gift wrapping, cookie decorating, breakfast and craft stations. Additionally, Santa Claus will drop by for a visit.
