Roswell Homeowners Have Until April 1 To Submit Homestead Exemption Application
Roswell homeowners must have been listed on the deed and have lived in the home as their primary residence as of January 1 of this year.
ROSWELL, GA — Roswell homeowners have until April 1 to apply for a homestead exemption and receive a discount on their city, county and school property taxes, according to a Fulton County news release.
To qualify for a 2022 homestead exemption, the homeowner must have been listed on the deed and have lived in the home as their primary residence as of January 1 of this year. According to the release, homeowners who purchased a new home last year or who turned 62, 65 or 70 years of age as of January 1 are urged to complete homestead exemption applications.
All Fulton County property owners who were age 65 and over as of January 1 can benefit from a senior exemption regardless of income, said the County. Other senior homestead exemptions are offered for seniors who meet certain income requirements.

Homeowners with a current homestead exemption in place do not need to reapply. However, changes in property deeds that may occur such as divorce, inheritance or refinancing can have an impact on homestead exemptions. The county recommends that all homeowners verify that their homestead exemptions are in place before the April 1 deadline.
