Household Hazardous Waste Collection Returns Saturday

Residents looking to remove household hazardous items from their living spaces will soon be able to, thanks to an event hosted by the city of Roswell.

The city’s Public Works/Environmental Department will hold a Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event on Saturday, Nov. 7.

The event will run from 9 a.m. to noon at Roswell’s Public Works/Transportation/Fire facilities at 1810 Hembree Road.

Saturday’s collection drive is for Roswell residents only; no commercial entities will be allowed to participate.

Items accepted:

  • Paint thinner/turpentine
  • Pesticides including: fertilizers, herbicides, flea and tick products, fungicides, insecticides, rodenticides
  • Undiluted pool chemicals
  • Household cleaners
  • Fluorescent bulbs
  • Propane gas cylinders
  • Mercury thermometers/thermostats
  • Household batteries (non-rechargeable)
  • Aerosols including aerosol paint
  • Automotive brake fluid/used motor oil filters (no other automotive fluids)

No latex or oil-based paint will be accepted at this event. As of Nov. 3, Roswell residents can dispose of both latex and oil-based paint at the Roswell Recycling Center.

The CARE Environmental Corporation will be handling and disposing of the materials. Materials cannot be dropped off prior to the event.
