Houze-Hembree Roundabout: Traffic Signal Coming Down Aug. 19

The Georgia Department of Transportation will remove the signal around 10 a.m. and the intersection will become a one-lane roundabout.

ROSWELL, GA -- On Saturday, Georgia Department of Transportation contractors will remove the signal at the intersection of Houze and Hembree roads as part of its project to build a fully-functioning, two-lane roundabout along the state highway.

The traffic signal will be removed around 10 a.m. Aug. 19, and the road will transition into a one-lane roundabout. Its final configuration as a two-lane roundabout isn't expected to take shape until closer to the end of the year, the city of Roswell said.

During this time, motorists are strongly encouraged to use caution while traveling through the intersection, as new traffic patterns will be going into effect (SIGN UP: Get Patch's Daily Newsletter and Real Time News Alerts. Or, if you have an iPhone, download the free Patch app).
