Identity Of Driver Killed In Roswell Crash Remains Unknown
Police say debris from a tree fell onto the victim's car, causing him to swerve and crash into a utility pole.

ROSWELL, GA — The identity of the driver who died Monday in a single-vehicle crash on Willeo Road in Roswell remains unknown. An investigator with the Fulton County Medical Examiner's Office told Patch that they are still working on obtaining the victim's name and other pertinent information.
The vehicle was traveling on Willeo Road near Fulton County's Big Creek Water Reclamation Facility when it veered off the road, struck a utility pole and partially plunged into the Chattahoochee River (For more news like this, find your local Patch here. Roswell police have released new details in connection with the accident. Monday, March 12 was a windy day across metro Atlanta, with motorists having to watch out for falling power lines and trees. Roswell police spokesperson Lisa Holland said it appears falling debris from a dead tree struck the 1928 Ford Model A, which "caused the chain of events."

After the debris came down onto the vehicle, the driver swerved and crashed into the telephone pole. Traffic investigators note they do not believe the debris hit the driver, but that it did cause some visible damage to the front part of the car.
"The crash is still under investigation, but evidence is showing that the impact of the car hitting the pole is what killed him," Holland told Patch.
