An Indian Culinary Vacation, Via Two New Books

Roswell personal chef showcases two Indian cookbooks at the 2014 Decatur Book Festival.

Provided:

A decade since she started Curry Cravings™ and after nearly four years of hosting suppers in both Atlanta and Los Angeles, Roswell resident Nandita Godbole is showcasing her two books about Indian food at this years’Decatur Book Festival in downtown Decatur. (August 29-31, downtown Decatur, GA)

Over the years, Nandita has searched tirelessly for cookbooks that truly represented Indian meals, just as they are made in traditional Indian homes. Her supper club dinners included many regional delicacies that had escaped restaurant menus. Her intrigued guests always asked for recipes, but most importantly they were all looking for menus that would help them cook a complete meal without referring to three books at once! Determined to expand the available choices in this genre, Nandita decided to share her own recipes from a dozen Curry Cravings™ suppers in her first cookbook: A Dozen Ways To Celebrate: Twelve Complete Decadent Feasts for the Culinary Indulgent.

This full color cookbook is visually rich, filled with a decadent variety of traditional dishes from regional cuisines. It shows readers how to make twelve such elaborate dinners through more than 125 recipes and several combinations for weeknight feasts. The book includes time saving ideas for the host, easy entertaining ideas for both the kitchen and home as well as opportunities for guest participation.

Propelled by the enthusiasm for this book and her cooking methods, Nandita has compiled a simpler shorter book, Crack The Code: Cook Any Indian Meal With Confidence written for both novice and seasoned chefs who are taking on Indian cooking for the very first time. Crack The Code explores the structure behind most recipes in the Indian cuisine. This simpler methods book is designed for cooking enthusiasts at all skill levels, but particularly those who are interested in exploring Indian recipes.

This ebook is being launched at the Decatur Book Festival this weekend and will be available for pre-order starting August 31, via iTunes. (Link:http://bit.ly/CC_Books )

Nandita has routinely taught Indian cooking to many age groups over the years. Her students and cookbook readers have expressed great enthusiasm for her books. Through her books, her simple cooking style comes forth through illustrative language, poignant narratives and much of her own photography. All of these showcase each dish she creates. Readers become completely immersed into the Indian culture and cuisine and gain confidence in cooking Indian food.

Nandita will be teaching Indian cooking classes via the City of Roswell’s Parks & Recreation Department, as part of their Fall and Winter catalog offerings. For more details, visit their website:http://www.roswellgov.com/index.aspx?NID=621
