The ball will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. Oct. 17 at the home of Jere and Claudia Wood, which is located at 10850 Stroup Road.
This year’s event will benefit the Roswell Woman’s Club, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit service organization that supports the North Fulton community through volunteering and fundraising.
“The Roswell Woman’s Club thanks Mayor Jere Wood for choosing the club as the 2015 beneficiary of the Mayor’s Annual BBQ Ball,” said Bonnie Sammons of the Roswell Woman’s Club. “The Club is looking forward to participating in the judging for the BBQ and side dish taste-off.”
To the attendees: comfortable attire is a must, and don’t forget to pack your dancing shoes so you can get down to the tunes of Chris Roberts and The Relix.
A friendly BBQ Taste Off and best side dish competition will kick up the spirit of this event as well as libations provided by Roswell’s own Gate City Brewing Company.
It’s not too late to get your BBQ or side dish on the ballot, which can be done by contacting Kim Weber at Mayorsbbqball@gmail.com.
Already set to compete this year are Grand Champion BBQ, Spiced Right BBQ, Meating Street BBQ and AngelFire7 BBQ.
Another twist to this year’s event: a competition for the best side dish. Competitors lined up so far are Zoe’s Kitchen and Lucky’s Burger & Brew. Every guest will cast their vote for the best dish.
Be sure to save the date and get your tickets, which can be purchased online. Prices are $30 per person, and free for kids 6 and under.
