Junior League of Gwinnett and North Fulton Counties Seek New Members

The Junior League of Gwinnett and North Fulton Counties, Inc. (JLGNF) is seeking new members for their Spring 2016 New Member Class. Membership in JLGNF offers opportunities for all women who demonstrate an interest in and a commitment to volunteerism.

JLGNF has approximately 135 Active and Sustaining members consisting of CEOs, entrepreneurs, mothers and professional women from diverse backgrounds. Each member balances her work and home life with her volunteer hours to help JLGNF make a difference in the communities it serves. In addition to training and leadership opportunities, members have the ability to become more involved in their local communities and build relationships with women from all walks of life.

Focused on its mission to raise awareness for girls’ self-esteem, JLGNF hosts fundraising events and participates in hands-on activities that positively impact the lives of the young women in Gwinnett, North Fulton and South Forsyth Counties. Their “Strong Girls, Bright Futures” program was created to increase awareness and support girls’ self-esteem efforts in their surrounding area. The program works to provide education and empowerment for preteen and tween girls, with an emphasis on girls in grades 5-8, regarding the value of intelligence, competence and education to assist girls in making positive decisions.

The Junior League of Gwinnett and North Fulton Counties is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization of women dedicated to voluntarism and committed to developing the potential of women through training, leadership opportunities and service. Its purpose is to strengthen the community by creating and implementing collaborative volunteer projects. JLGNF is a member of the Association of Junior Leagues International, Inc., encompassing more than 150,000 women in 291 Leagues across four countries.

Currently celebrating its 30th anniversary, JLGNF contributed over 900 hours of service in the surrounding areas of North Fulton, Gwinnett and South Forsyth during the previous league year. JLGNF is able to increase their impact through collaborative partnerships with organizations including Girl Talk, Girls on the Run of North Georgia, Jesse’s House and Rainbow Village.
