Tom LaDow is the founder of Atlanta Plays It Forward, which is known for hosting the Alive in Roswell street festival.

ROSWELL, GA -- The Roswell City Council unanimously approved the appointment of Tom LaDow as Roswell’s representative to the Transportation Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (T-SPLOST) Citizens Oversight Council.
The appointment was approved during the Council's Feb. 13 meeting. As a provision of the T-SPLOST — the 0.75% (3/4 of a cent) sales tax approved by Fulton County voters in November to fund transportation projects in participating cities — the Oversight Council will monitor the progress and implementation of T-SPLOST.
Each of the 13 participating Fulton County cities outside of Atlanta will appoint a representative delegate to the Oversight Council. The Fulton County Commission will also appoint one member.

“I care passionately about Roswell and North Fulton and am honored to serve the community as Roswell’s representative on the Oversight Council,” said LaDow. “T-SPLOST offers an unprecedented opportunity to make significant transportation improvements that will not only benefit Roswell, but all of North Fulton. The Oversight Council will help ensure a transparent process and the responsible stewardship of taxpayer’s money.”
Fulton County voters approved the TSPLOST referendum to fund transportation projects in their respective cities. In Roswell, the city notes the question passed 53.75 percent to 46.25 percent.
Countywide the measure passed 52.80 to 47.20 percent.
Projections show the TSPLOST will bring an estimated $93 million to the city of Roswell for transportation improvements. Beginning in April, a 0.75% (3/4 of a cent) sales tax will be collected to fund transportation projects specifically recommended by each Fulton County city outside the city of Atlanta.
